Last article we looked at how to install DHCP on on Windows server 2012 r2. Today we will look at Configure DHCP Server – Create New Scope, Reservation and etc. on Windows server 2012 r2 DHCP server.
So lets start with creating new Scope:
First Open DHCP server from Server manager -> Tools -> DHCP:
Right click on IPv4 and click New Scope:
On the welcome screen click Next:
Scope Name window type scope name and description:
IP Address Range window type IP address range for scope and click Next:
Add Exclusions and Delay window type IP address range that you want exclude and click Next:
Lease Duration window type scope lease duration and click Next:
Click Yes to configure DHCP option for this scope and click Next:
Type ip address of router and click Next:
Type Domain name and DNS servers and click Next:
If you have WINS server type that and click Next (I do not have Wins server):
Click Yes to activate scope right now and click Next:
Click Finish to complete create new scope:
As you see new scope created:
If you want create DHCP reservation then right-click on reservation and click New Reservation… :
Type all necessary information about server or workstation and click ADD and and then close:
As you see new Reservation created successfully:
If you want change reservation information later right-click on reservation ip address and click properties:
Change what you need and click OK:
If you want add another Exclusion Range to the created scope then right-click on Address Pool and click New Exclusion Range…:
Type IP address range that you want to exclude and click Add and then Click Close:
On the Address leases section you can see all IP address that leased by the clients:
If you want make change on DNS, Router or other setting about scope you can use Scope Option -> Configure Options…
Find which you want to change and then click OK:
Same way you can add or change those information on DHCP server IPv4 as below:
