How to set Internet Explorer Home Page via GPO?

In this post we will see how to set Internet Explorer home page via GPO. With Gpo the most simplest and easiest way to do this. So follow steps below:

1.Open the Group Policy Management console and right click on Group Policy Objects. Click New and give a name of the new GPO and click OK:

2.Right click on GPO which we created and click edit the GPO. In the Group Policy Management Editor, go to User Configuration -> Policies -> Administrative Templates -> WindowsComponents -> Internet Explorer. Find the policy Disable changing home page settings. Right click on the policy setting and click Edit.

3.Set it to Enabled, and specify the URL for your home page and click OK.

4. We will  apply that GPO to Manager OU which contains all user accounts. Right click on the Manager  OU and click Link an Existing GPO. In the Select GPO box select the GPO and click OK.

You need to wait to apply that policy. To force a group policy update by running gpupdate /force on your client computers with command prompt and you will see the IE homepage that you have set using group policy object.  Also user has no options to change the home page URL.
