The Send Connector is created on the Hub Transport or Edge Server role. Send Connector is required to Send Emails over the internet.
To create send connector log on to Exchange server and lunch Exchange management console and go to Organization Configuration > Hub Transport Server. Select the Send connectors tab, and click on New Send Connector from the Action pane:
The New Send Connector windows will open and on the Introduction page, you will need to give the friendly name for Send Connector and then select its type:
There are 4 type of send connector:
Custom Select this option to create a customized connector to connect with systems that aren’t servers running Exchange 2010.
Internal Internal Send connectors send e-mail to servers in your Exchange organization. This connector is configured to route e-mail to your internal Exchange servers as smart hosts.
Internet Internet Send connectors send e-mail to the Internet. This connector is configured to use Domain Name System (DNS) MX records to route e-mail.
Partner Partner Send connectors send e-mail to partner domains. This connector is configured to only allow connections to servers that authenticate with Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificates for SMTP domains included in the list of domain-secured domains. You can add domains to this list by using the TLSSendDomainSecureList parameter in the Set-TransportConfig command.
We will use Internet type of send connector and then click next and “Address Space” page click Add:
On this SMTP address space windows to send to all Other Domains, type * then click OK:
Click next to Network setting page and select Use domain name system (DNS) “MX” records to route mail automatically(if you have smart host select “Route Mail through the following smart hosts” and add IP address) and click next:
Source Server windows , all Hub Transport Sever will be automatically selected. to select any other server , click on Add and choose your server and click next:
Check and click new to create send connector:
To complete click to finish:
