Install vCenter Server 5.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2

Today we will look at installing vCenter Server 5.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Follow steps below:

  1. Double click on vCenter Server 5.5 software on disk or USB :

2.  we will install all the components on the same machine with Simple Install:

3. Accept the EULA and the installer will automatically checks the pre-requisites for Single Sing On:

4. Set the Administrator Password for Single Sign On:

5. Click install to begin installation all components:

6.Enter the License Key or you can update later:

7. i will be use the MS SQL 2008 Express which is have the vCenter Server installer. you can use exiting database if you have:

8.Keep the ports as their defaults and click Next:

9.Select the appropriate JVM memory size for your expected end goal deployment size

10. Click finish to complete :

11.After the installation completes, a message pops up informing all the 4 components have been installed and click ok.

12. After that you can click on vShpere web client shortcut  and enter to web console or open the web browser and type your ip address https://172.16.171.110:9443  or https://localhost:9443:
