Install a DNS Server on Windows server 2012

Today we will look at installing of DNS server .  As we know DNS is a system that is used in TCP/IP networks for naming computers and network services. DNS naming locates computers and services through user-friendly names. When a user enters a DNS name in an application, DNS services can resolve the name to other information that is associated with the name, such as an IP address.

Let’s start to install DNS on Windows server 2012:

  1. Lunch Server Manager and click  “Add Roles and Features”

2. Opening windows click next to go on:

3.  Select “Role-based or feature-based Installation” and then click on “Next”

4. On the windows select server which you want to install DNS server and click next:

5.  Displayed list select the DNS Server and click next :

6. On the opening windows click “Add Features” to continue:

7.  Click next :

9. Click install for complete installation and  once done, click Close:

You can reach DNS server role from “Administrative Tools” -> DNS
